Focus on Mental Illness proud of links with Mental Health First Aid England

We are proud to share that Stephen and Liz are two of the one million people trained by MHFA England in mental health knowledge, awareness, and skills. They’ve also been MHFA England Instructor Members for the last 9 years, training 100's of islanders as MHFAiders®. Liz is also a National Trainer, training Instructors since 2017.

As an example, in February Stephen and Liz delivered another Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England course to a dedicated and passionate group of employees of the Department of Young People,Education and Skills (CYPES) – taking the combined number of MHFAiders trained by them in Jersey to 393!

It was lovely to receive a 10/10 instructor rating for both instructors from all 8 delegates. We are very proud of their average confidence and knowledge improvements after completing the course. We received some lovely comments too!

“I enjoyed the course. It has given me confidence to start conversation with my team using ALGEE. Having the app to help sign post people to other agencies to get support. Liz and Stephen made the course enjoyable, they shared their knowledge and would check in with the group before and after each difficult topic.”

“I have learnt so much from this course and now feel able to support many of my Young people in my work.”

“There was a lot to take in and some of the content is heavy, Liz and Stephen did a fantastic job to make the course flow well and bring light into it. We had good breaks which I think are needed and the sweets and biscuits were great. I though you both did a fantastic job and enjoyed the course as much as possible and feel more empowered and knowledgeable.”

With MHFA England® training you will access the very best evidence based MHFA® course available. This course is ideal for anyone who would like to become an MHFAider®.
