We are thrilled to announce that the Lieutenant Governor of Jersey, His Excellency Vice Admiral Jerry Kyd, has graciously agreed to become the patron of Focus on Mental Illness.
We recently had the honour of meeting Vice Admiral Kyd and were struck by how distinguished a leader and gentleman he is. His deep commitment to public service is evident, and his patronage highlights the importance of supporting islanders living with mental illness and the impact of our work in the community.
At Focus on Mental Illness, our mission is to support individuals severely affected by mental illness through family intervention, service user participation, campaigning, education, and access to creativity. The endorsement and support of Vice Admiral Kyd will undoubtedly enhance our efforts to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and improve the quality of life of islanders living with mental illness across Jersey.
Vice Admiral Kyd’s involvement underscores the critical need to address mental illness and ensures that our cause remains at the forefront of public discourse. His patronage will help us to continue providing essential services and expand our reach to more individuals and families in need.
